Talk with an author Dr. Vishal Bhadani

On January 1, 2019, we talked about Dr. Vishal Bhadani's guest speech was given. He talked about the short stories 'Fictional' and its importance in the lives of its ordinary people. Vishal Sir read his two stories and also gave tips for writing short stories or any work.
I had read three short stories of 'Fictional' which are 'Mara Hath Ki Vath Nathi', 'Sansni and Ranjana' and 'Museum of Innocence'. All these stories are related to middle class people.

➤ Mara Hath ni wat nathi :-

The writer covers all the basics in this story, but the title itself is challenging. The writer connects the problems of society with different parts of the hand. Plate, Finger, Thumb etc. It connects various parts of the hand with various items, Buddha, Lord Vishnu, Devi Lakshmi, Vasco da Gama etc. In this way the author uses a lot of symbols in his work.

 ➤ Innosense Museum: -

The title represents the modern world. But reality is different .This story is completely paradoxical to the title. This story is about the villagers. There is a letter from Istanbul to the village. In this letter, Istanbul wants the innocent thing to be a new 'music of innocence'. All villagers have become curious that they will send innocent things to Istanbul. After a lot of talk, when he did not find any answer like old slogan doshi. She used to speak only the language of satirical, hence its name is used as a symbol. After a lot of thinking he gets the solution and sends the fruit of the banayan  tree.
According to Kadvi Doshi, for many years people used to sit under the banayan  tree and still stand there without complaining and shade others. All these reasons that make us feel stupid but have a deeper meaning. In this way, two short stories can be interpreted in as many ways as possible. We also remember that the author believes in the nature. And that's why arranging their stories is on the side of the village.

➤ Translation: -

After a short story session, there is a translation session in which Vishal Sir spoke about job opportunities in the translation sector. Translation is very hard and great work as well. We have done one of the translations of the phrase.
In this way, we get knowledge about writing short stories and getting translations.

Q-1) Comment on narrative structure of the novel on@tcc. Compare with that life of Pi.
Narrative structure :-

One night @ the call center is a controversial novel. The novel's narrative framework in which we can find dream sequence. God has a dream or a real meeting, but the storyteller does not understand it.Chetan Bhagat  himself started the novel that he was on a train from Kanpur to Delhi and he met a woman who told him the story. So the protagonist describes it by dark. Here is a frame description.Unknown Lady-> Chetan Bhagat-> Shyam-> Reader
It also becomes problematic because it takes a different kind of understanding. If we compare it to Yan Martell's pie of life, then it is also the same narrative structure.

Experience with God :-

In both novels, there is an experience with God. One night @ call  center In all six letters are called from God. In life's life, he experiences the presence of God on Iceland who saves him.
Here's a better description of Life on Pi One night @ call center. This has enabled him to get awards in Chetan Bhagat's description.
In the end, both novelists confuse the description of how they represent God's presence? Story teller leaves it on the author, whether he has mentioned God's presence or not.

Interaction with France Professors : Brief talk on Higher education system

 22nd January

.

Today, we visited Streisman's University of Lauren University Professor Saeed Pavindi and Professor Fantanini. They visited Maharaja Krishna Kumarasinhji Bhavnagar University. He briefly visited our Department of English for a short conversation on the higher education system. Chairman of the Department of Economics Kishore Joshi presented the guest. We had a wonderful visit by Professor Saeed Pavindi, Professor of French at Lauren University and Christine Fentanini  France. They visited Maharaja Krishna Kumarasinhji Bhavnagar University. For short talks on the Higher Education System, he visited the English department's small tour. Chairman of the Department of Economics Kishore Joshi  introduced  the guest.

French people based on our study We have studied French history, including French Revolution, French colonists. The common outcome we have found is that there is more violence than peace. But this is not just in the case of France. We can see the same situation in India too. There is a lot of flexibility between India and France. Professor Saeed is not a citizen of France. He came to France to learn French. They lived as their foreigners. They were closely watching the culture of France. He talked about violence in some French movements and accordingly violence does not provide the right solution for any problem.

Professor Christine's thoughts were against Professor Saeed. Violence in their violence is very common. He talked about the economic crisis in various categories. Elite people became more prosperous, the poor became poorer and faced more economic crisis in the middle class. This also affects education system.

This kind of interaction provides us with authenticity about the particular culture. It was a very knowledgeable and eager session. Both professors spoke freely about the French culture and education system.
I am thankful to Professor Dilip Barad and Professor Kishor Joshi of the Department of Economics  for  organising this surprise visit.

Thinking Activity : Mass media and Communication

Which is your favorite Mass media platform for communication? Why do you like it? What are its drawback?

My favourite mass media platform for communication is  whatsapp. It has all the important features. It can be easily accessible.  It helps in developing  Four important skills LSRW.

  Listening skill
  Speaking skill
  Reading skill and
  Writing  skill

Through whatsapp features and Whatsapp gives very good feature for improving these skills. For instance our professor gives us reading task in whatsapp so through this we can improve our reading skill and also it gives the features of video sharing, video calling, and we also write messages for writing skills.

Though it's like a coin which has two sides positive as well as negative. At some level it faces drawback because of unreliable messages .Whatsapp has also negative side.Sometimes we get fake information from whatsapp. Many people spread rumours with the use of this platform and it creates problems in society.

Thinking activity : Technology and Education

1) Why is it necessary to use Technology in Education ?

To use technology in education is necessary today because Technology is a tool, not a learning outcome. Teacher can use technology in the classroom through technology student became active and develop new thinking . Teacher can use technology in teaching so, it is effective process learners and they get knowledge easily. Technology through students can acquire other skill also for example:Listening skill,  Speaking, skill, Reading  skill and Writing skill.
Here, some examples that how technology is necessary in classroom.
1) Technology makes teaching easy
2) Technology helps to track students’ progress
3) Technology makes distance learning more
     accessible than ever before
4) Students and teacher can access information at
     any time!
5) Technology makes collaboration more
     effective!
Technology is peripheral to the learning activity. Thus, we can say that technology is necessary in education.

(2) What is the difference between 'using' and 'integrating'
      technology?

To 'Using' and 'Integration' technology is different for example. If teacher can use technology purely for the sake of using technology. So, it became use of technology. If technology is used to support curricular goals & learning objectives. So, it became use of Integration technology. If teacher can use technology is rare or sporadically used in the classroom so, it became 'Using'. If technology is a routine part of the classroom environment. So, it became 'Integration'. Technology is mostly being used by the instructor. So it became using. If technology is mostly being used by the student. So, it became Integration. Thus, it is important for all teachers to understand the differences between technology use and technology integration.

  (3) How we integrate technology?
For integration student can use different web tools like blog task, Flipped learning and social media like Whatsapp and Facebook, in which Flipped learning is very interesting because it broke the traditional norms of teaching and learning in the classroom. Students can learn any time from any where through flipped learning. So the teachers use technology it is called use of technology and what student use it is called integration of technology. Students learn by their own. It also become helpful to get connected with other students.

(4) Can Technology replace Teacher ?
This is the age in which human are replaced by technology. There is so many place in which the place of human beings are taken by machine and technology. But in education , the place of teacher is can not taken by anything. May be the place of teacher will be taken by technology but there will be still missing of emotion, feelings and interaction between student and teacher. After all its a machine which have programmed information. It never able to connect the things out of the box like teacher. Technology can provide information but when and how leaner should used that information in proper way it only taught by teachers.
(5) Write in brief on David Crystal's views on 'effect of new technologies on English language', 'biggest challenge for English language teachers in the times of internet', and 'texting is good for English language'.
David Crystal and support the argument that new technologies, rather than degrading as some would argue the English language actually enhance it, as they facilitate new pursuits by developing a new style of the English language. We find Crystal's observations about the influence on language of a particular technological medium very interesting.
And also the idea of how a very minor change in a question, or sentence expecting a response, can so very dramatically influence the response itself and the language used.
It is also noteworthy what Crystal says about the timescale of observing the influence of technologies like the internet, and how it will take a very long time for us to actually see any prominent changes to the structure of the language- that it could be a relatively temporary phenomenon, but that we will not know for certain for a long .Teaching language change no question that is difficult always has been the difficulty with teaching, but its particularly a difficulty now given now that language is changing so fast is changing for tourism. one reason the internet which is indeed festering new varieties and new word. experience faster than ever before we know in the old day if you invented a new world It could generation before the rest of the world, knew about that new world. Technology and texting brought abbreviation in  language. But it is only 10 percent other 90 percent language is standard English. In language the more one read and write, the more one can expertise it. And mobile and computer can be very useful for that.

6) Name one web-tool which can help in development of all four L-S-R-W skills.

Whatsapp as a web tool is very useful for all four basic skills.
     For Example,

  Listening skill
  Speaking skill
  Reading skill and
  Writing  skill
Through whatsapp features and Whatsapp gives very good feature for improving these skills. For instance our professor gives us reading task in whatsapp so through this we can improve our reading skill and also it gives the features of video sharing, video calling, and we also write messages for writing skills.
